AZ Alkmaar midfielder Demy de Zeeuw has been called up by Holland coach Marco van Basten to replace Wesley Sneijder for the Euro 2008 qualifier against Luxembourg.

It is the 23-year-old's first international call-up and comes about with Sneijder's wife expecting their first child around the date of the game on September 2.

Ajax's Sneijder could return to the squad to face Belarus on September 6.
