Sparta Rotterdam edged Eredivisie rivals VVV Venlo with a penalty shoot-out win in the third round of the KNVB Beker.
Drawing 1-1 after 90 minutes - Sandro Calabro opening for VVV in the 20th minute before Kevin Strootman's 37th-minute leveller - there were no further goals in extra-time as the match went to penalties.
And the Rotterdam side held their nerve to edge the shoot-out 5-4 and move into the fourth round.
Luiz Andre Bahia and Stefan Babovic scored for Feyenoord as they won 2-0 at home to Den Bosch while fellow top flight side NAC Breda were comfortable 6-1 winners at De Treffers with Leonardo netting twice.
