PSV Eindhoven maintained the pressure on Eredivisie leaders FC Twente with a resounding win at NEC Nijmegen.

PSV bossed a one-sided affair from the opening minute, Balazs Dzsudzsak handing them the lead inside 20 seconds and they never looked back.

Jonathan Reis made it 2-0 on the quarter-hour mark and second-half goals from Otman Bakkal and Danko Lazovic sealed the win as second-placed PSV remained two points behind Twente.

The game had barely kicked off by the time mid-table NEC found themselves one down.

Lazovic found space down the right and his low cross was turned home by Dzsudzsak.

NEC did enjoy a brief spell of pressure after going behind but were unable to find an equaliser.

Bjorn Vleminckx saw a shot saved by PSV keeper Andreas Isaksson while the Belgian then failed to net the rebound after Isaksson could only parry Arkadiusz Radomski's effort.

Those misses came back to haunt NEC when PSV edged further ahead after 15 minutes.

Lazovic was again the provider with a right-wing cross and Reis got ahead of Rens Van Eijden to fire past Gabor Babos.

Stanislav Manolev shot wide five minutes later as PSV threatened to run riot although they were grateful for another save from Isaksson to deny Rutger Worm seven minutes before the break.

PSV settled the contest after 49 minutes when Bakkal reacted quickest to score after Orlando Engelaar's shot was blocked by the NEC defence.

And Fred Rutten's men added another shortly afterwards when Youssef El Akchaoui was adjudged to have tugged Lazovic's shirt inside the area and the Serbia international made no mistake from the spot.
