Feyenoord coach Gertjan Verbeek has hit out at the Dutch football association's decision to reintroduce a Holland B team.
The KNVB have decided to revive the team, which will be coached by former player Johan Neeskens, after the Dutch Under-21 side were eliminated from the European Championships qualifiers.
Neeskens, who was assistant coach at Barcelona under Frank Rijkaard, will be assisted by Dennis Bergkamp while Arthur Numan and Patrick Lodewijks will act as team manager and goalkeeping coach respectively.
But Verbeek is incensed by the decision, which he believes will hinder his preparations for Eredivisie matches.
"I am against this, yes," he said.
"It looks ridiculous to me. With another team added to the calendar I will stand on the training pitch with only three players. And you also need to think about how they return for those international games."
Verbeek was also surprised that Lodewijks, who is under contract at Feyenoord, was announced as one of the coaches.
"There has been no consultation, otherwise technical director Peter Bosz would certainly had talked to me about it," he said.
Feyenoord have made it clear that they will follow FIFA rules and not allow players to attend training camps outside the international calendar.
