Ajax will go into the final of the Eredivisie's Champions League play-offs against FC Groningen without Hedwiges Maduro after the midfielder sustained an injury that could threaten his World Cup place.
Maduro is likely to face a month on the sidelines after damaging a tendon in his right ankle in Sunday's semi-final second-leg victory at Feyenoord.
The 21-year-old was forced to leave the pitch on a stretcher after sustaining the injury in a tackle with Sebastian Pardo midway through the second half.
The worst-case scenario could see Maduro out of the Holland squad for this summer's World Cup finals in Germany.
Maduro is not the only player Ajax coach Danny Blind will be without against Groningen.
Mauro Rosales, Zdenek Grygera, Hatem Trabelsi and Wesley Sneijder also have injuries, while Steven Pienaar is suspended.
