Jamaique Vandamme has agreed personal terms on a contract with Roda JC, but the fee demanded by the player's current club SV Roeselare is proving to be a stumbling block.
Roda view the asking price of one million euros (£700,000) as too high and will contact the Belgian side again soon to try and agree a fee.
"We hope that we can reach a deal in a normal way," says director Huub Narinx in AD Sportwereld.
The 20-year-old striker, who has played 26 games in his debut season with Roeselare, extended his contract in January until June 2008.
If needed Vandamme can make use of a Belgian law which allows a player to buy out his contract under certain circumstances.
