Hertha Berlin have completed the signing of Serbia utility player Gojko Kacar from FK Vojvodina.
The 20-year-old, who is already a full international, has signed a contract tying him to the Olympic Stadium until 2012.
Hertha general manager Dieter Hoeness told the club's official website: "Gojko is a young player, but he has enough experience and brings with him the right attitude. He will be able to help us immediately."
Coach Lucien Favre said Hertha were attracted by Kacar's ability to play in a number of positions.
He added: "Gojko can play almost anywhere. He is a central defender, but can also play as a defensive midfielder. We need such players."
Kacar is not concerned by what position he plays, and hopes his move to the German capital will help him establish himself as a regular in the Serbia national team.
He said: "The coach decides where I should play. The most important thing is that I progress. I have come to Hertha above all in order to play international football."
Kacar, who scored 15 goals in 67 games for Vojvodina, will where the number 44 shirt for Hertha because four is his lucky number.
