Eintracht Frankfurt coach Michael Skibbe believes his team were beaten by the next champions of Germany after going down 4-0 at Bayer Leverkusen on Friday night.

Frankfurt were never in the game and were already three goals behind after 11 minutes as Leverkusen opened up a four-point lead at the top of the Bundesliga, where they are now guaranteed to spend the next fortnight due to the break for internationals.

"Bayer will be champions," said Skibbe, after witnessing first-hand the way Jupp Heynckes' men have been dominating all season.

Leverkusen are the only side in Germany yet to lose a game and they become the second side to put four goals past Frankfurt in the last 10 days after Bayern Munich.

"We were rolled over and were full of fear at the start," added Skibbe.

"We at Frankfurt are going to have to completely change our team if we want to be competitive in the Bundesliga over the next year and a half."

Skibbe is unlikely to name Caio in his starting XI again in a rush. The Brazilian was removed after just over 20 minutes.

"I took Caio off because he was bad and I needed a player who could hold the ball better," said the forlorn Frankfurt coach.

Heynckes was pleased with the progress his side had made compared to their 2-2 draw with Schalke last weekend.

"My team is learning quite quickly," he said. "We threw away a comfortable lead at Schalke, but today we played very cleverly after an excellent first half."
