Aaron Hunt scored twice in the final 18 minutes as Werder Bremen came back from a two-goal deficit at Nurnberg to rescue a point.

Christian Eigler put Nurnberg ahead in the third minute and Albert Bunjaku made it 2-0 after 33 minutes.

But Hunt struck in the 72nd minute and then two minutes into injury time, allowing Werder to extend their unbeaten streak to 17 games.

Nurnberg took the lead after a huge mistake by the Bremen defence after just three minutes.

Per Mertesacker and Naldo both let Andreas Wolf's long ball fly by them and Bremen goalkeeper Tim Wiese missed the ball on his charge out of goal and Eigler tapped into the empty net.

Wiese made a superb stop on Bunjaku's 16-yard blast nine minutes later before Bunjaku's goal in the 14th minute was disallowed due to handball.

Bremen were unable to create much offensively and nearly fell further behind after 28 minutes but Peer Kluge's blast from 18 yards hammered off the right post.

The hosts did double the lead five minutes later as Bunjaku headed in a corner from the left side from seven yards.

Bremen striker Markus Rosenberg beat keeper Raphael Schfer but his shot in the 34th minute went just right of the target.

Nurnberg had a number of chances to make it 3-0 but Marek Mintal was just off target in the 47th minute, Eigler could not beat Wiese a minute later and Wiese blocked Mintal again in the 51st.

Bremen pulled a goal back after 72 minutes. Sebastian Boenisch sent a high ball into the area where Hunt nodded home.

Tim Borowski was all alone three yards out with three minutes left but the Bremen defender headed directly at Schfer.

Hunt snatched a point two minutes into injury time.

Juri Judt failed to clear the ball which landed at Hunt's feet and he blasted into the top left corner from 15 yards.
