Portsmouth manager Harry Redknapp has revealed his admiration for Lyon's Alou Diarra, but insists a move for the midfielder is not imminent.
Redknapp is pondering a £5million bid for Frenchman Diarra, who is thought to have become disillusioned at Lyon since former Liverpool chief Gerard Houllier quit two weeks ago.
However, he remains doubtful the French club, who are now managed by former Pompey boss Alain Perrin, would be willing to let him leave.
Redknapp told the Portsmouth News: "Alou Diarra's a good player. I don't know if you would be able to get him out of Lyon, but I like him.
"I'm looking to get a couple of front men and a midfielder.
"Forwards are the priority because you've got to get it right up front. But they're so hard to find.
"I'll go for a midfield player too if I can get the right one. There's nothing imminent on Diarra, though."
