In-form Nice can make it five wins in a row when they head to Sochaux this weekend.
The club from Cote d'Azur would also make it six wins in seven attempts with success at the Stade Bonal.
Nice were second from bottom in the French top flight when they defeated Valenciennes 3-2 in early October, which began a rich vein of form including a 4-1 thumping of Lyon, seven times champions in the past decade.
France international Loic Remy has been the focal point of the club's recovery, contributing seven goals, including the winner against Toulouse last week which sent them up to ninth in the standings.
Striker Remy has been hailed as the new Thierry Henry and is understandably said to be interesting English clubs - with Arsenal tipped as his next destination.
But there is unlikely to be a move anywhere in the January transfer window after Remy said: "In terms of leaving Nice, I got my first international cap with this club and I see no reason to go to the World Cup as anything but a Nice player."
Club record signing Remy was top scorer for Nice last season and is heading the list once again.
In contrast, Sochaux are without an out-and-out scorer in the absence of American Charlie Davies.
Davies, a summer signing from Swedish club Hammarby, has netted twice for his new employers but is expected to be ruled out for up to 12 months following a serious road accident while on international duty with USA in October.
Inconsistent Sochaux, yet to draw in 12 league contests this season,
are therefore relying on 20-year-old Sloan Privat and Czech international Vaclav Sverkos for a goal supply.
