Lens were indebted to a second-half goal from Eduardo Dos Santos as they earned draw against Lorient after dominating most of the game.

Lens were nearly made to pay for their poor finishing as Franco Sosa had opened the scoring four minutes before half-time.

Lens had the first chance after 16 minutes when Razak Boukari ended a fine dribble with a shot which goalkeeper Fabien Audard did well to save.

Five minutes later Yohan Demont had a long-range shot but Audard again managed to keep the effort out.

Eduardo forced another opening when he was released by a through ball. Audard blocked and the ball fell to Sebastien Roudet who missed an open goal.

Lorient took the lead against the run of play when Sosa netted for the first time in Ligue 1 following a cross from Kevin Gameiro.

Lens equalised three minutes into the second half when Eduardo beat Audard with a diving header from a cross by Kevin Monnet-Paquet.

Boukari was unlucky with a shot from Yohan Demont's short free-kick but the shot came back off the crossbar.

Monnet-Paquet was denied by Audard as Lens failed to take yet another chance.

Monnet-Paquet rounded off a counter-attack with a fine shot on target but Audard again pulled off a fine save.

Roudet's shot skimmed the bar after 67 minutes as Lens kept up the pressure in search of a winning goal.

Lens were nearly made to pay for their catalogue of missed chances as Lorient went close to snatching a winning goal in injury time.

Olivier Monterrubio's free-kick from 20 yards was on target and keeper Vedran Runje had to scramble across goal to keep the ball out with his fingertips.
