Toulouse completed an encouraging week by securing their second Ligue 1 win of the season, 2-0 over Le Mans.
Goals in either half from Etienne Didot and Moussa Sissoko helped them to victory after their long journey back from Serbia on Thursday, where they gained an impressive 3-2 win over Partizan Belgrade.
The victory took them from 14th place to ninth, while Le Mans slipped one place to 17th as Lille moved above them with a draw at Lens.
Andre-Pierre Gignac, Ligue 1's top scorer with 24 goals last season, was the first to go close but his shot was well blocked by Sebastien Corchia in the 19th minute.
Le Mans responded with a chance of their own two minutes later as Frederic Thomas released Rolland Lamah but his shot was straight at Toulouse goalkeeper Yohann Pele.
The breakthrough for Toulouse came in the 25th minute when Gignac rounded off some good build-up play from Les Violets to lay the ball back to Didot, who smashed an unstoppable shot into the top corner to leave Le Mans goalkeeper Didier Ovono helpless.
Pele kept Toulouse in front four minutes later when he was called on to keep out a shot by Modibo Maiga and ensured they went in one goal to the good at half-time as he managed to divert Gregory Cerdan's bullet of a shot over the top in the 44th minute.
Toulouse threatened a second six minutes after the interval when Didot freed Gignac and his shot was blocked by Ovono, with Didot's follow-up effort kept out by Cerdan's intervention.
Le Mans then hit the crossbar in the 58th minute as Anthony Le Tallec's first-time shot from Ludovic Baal's assist was deflected onto the woodwork by Dany Nounkeu.
The game was put beyond Le Mans 11 minutes later as Franck Tabanou released Didot who in turn found Sissoko, who dribbled his way past Cyriaque Louvion before lobbing the ball over Ovono.
The Le Mans goalkeeper denied the hosts a third when he kept out Gignac's left-foot shot after Daniel Congre had crossed from the right with 13 minutes left and the striker was thwarted by Ovono again in the 81st minute after good combination play between the goalscorers Didot and Sissoko.
