Samir Nasri could leave Marseille at the end of the season, even though he has just signed a new contract tying him to the club until 2012.
The France playmaker extended his deal at the Mediterranean giants by a further three years on Wednesday, but still harbours ambitions of playing abroad.
And OM president Pape Diouf admitted a clause has been inserted in the player's contract, giving him the option of quitting the club if a suitable offer comes in.
"We were able to find a solution which suited everyone," said Diouf.
"Samir could leave each season, if we receive an offer in between 16 and 20million euros.
"But we are trying to envisage things from another angle. Our coach has clearly established that Samir is one of the elements he is counting on as he tries to build a team.
"Our aim isn't to weaken our team."
Nasri, who has been billed as the "New Zidane" by some observers, has a host of admirers and has been constantly linked with some leading European clubs - including Arsenal and Real Madrid - over the past year.
The 20-year-old insists his focus is on finishing the season well with OM, but is adamant he will not move to another side in France if he was to quit OM.
"At the moment, I am not thinking about what I am going to do," he said.
"But I will not leave for another French club, that is for sure. I will not leave for leaving's sake."
Nasri is expected to figure in France's squad for next month's European Championships.
