Marseille defender Ronald Zubar has urged his team to continue their recent winning run against Lille on Sunday in order to remain in third spot by the end of the weekend.
OM clinched their third successive win last weekend to Leapfrog Nancy into the final Champions League spot.
The two teams are level on 55 points heading into the weekend and, with five games left, there is everything to play for.
Nancy could steal a march when they host Le Mans on Saturday evening, but Eric Gerets' team can ensure they are back in pole position for a place in Europe's premier club competition by the end of the weekend with victory at the Stade Velodrome.
And Zubar for one is determined not to allow OM to loosen their grip on third place.
"We've put in a lot of effort over the last three games and have taken nine points," he said on www.om.net. "We want to keep on the same way.
"We're fully recovered now and are ready for the final run-in which is going to be great. Lille are going to be decisive in deciding the outcome of the league.
"We were really happy they beat Nancy (2-1 last weekend) but at the same time we know they are coming here to put in a good performance.
"They are a team that don't often lose and have been in good form on their travels. They a playing freely and are looking to take fifth place."
OM should have key midfielders Mathieu Valbuena and Benoit Cheyrou available for Saturday, but top scorer Mamadou Niang is an injury doubt.
Lille have won only five times in 39 attempts at Marseille, but midfielder Yohan Cabaye is hoping his team can go some way to putting that right on Sunday.
"We haven't had too much joy at the Velodrome so yes, we do think about it," he admitted. "But we have to use it as a source of motivation to go out and get a positive result there."
Claude Puel's side have lost only three times on the road in Ligue 1 this term and while Cabaye knows the visitors will have their work cut out this weekend he is optimistic of ending OM's winning streak.
"Despite a poor start to the season, Marseille have managed to turn things around," he analysed. "Their league standing is more than deserved, and they have a quality squad with players like (Djibril) Cisse, (Samir) Nasri and Niang.
"They have a good chance of keeping third place, but we'd like to put an end to their good run on Sunday night."
