Rennes coach Vahid Halilhodzic will quit the
club at the end of the season, the Ligue 1 outfit has revealed.
"Vahid Halilhodzic has announced his decision to Rennes Football Club his
intention to no longer exercise his functions as asporting manager at the end of
the present season," read the statement.
The Bosnian has been persistently linked with the impending vacancy at Paris
St Germain.
Rennes are in the thick of a fight against relegation but the club has confirmed
that the former Lille coach will remain in charge for the rest of the campaign.
"The entire club renews in Vahid Halilhodzic its entire confidence for the
end of the season and is more focused than ever on the only objective of keeping
the club in Ligue 1," said the statement.
Paris St Germain coach Luis Fernandez has already confirmed he will leave the
club this summer and Halilhodzic has been in recent weeks linked with the job.
The coach had already confirmed he had been offered a position at the capital
club by Francis Graille who will be shortly installed as PSG president and
worked closely with Halilhodzic at Lille.
