Colchester will be without Kem Izzet and Pat Baldwin when they travel to Swindon.
Midfielder Izzet is suspended following his red card in last weekend's goalless draw at Southampton, and centre-half Baldwin was stretchered off with a leg injury which will sideline him for a few weeks.
David Fox could return in the centre and Matt Heath, who replaced Baldwin at St Mary's, is in line to start.
Injury-hit striker Steven Gillespie (hamstring) played half-an-hour for the reserves in midweek but is short of match fitness and Lee Beevers (shoulder), Paul Reid and Jamie Guy (both knee) are still out.
New boss Adrian Boothroyd sprang a couple of surprises when he named his first Us line-up with rare starts for full-back John White and winger Anthony Wordsworth as well as a debut for John-Joe O'Toole.
Swindon boss Danny Wilson has no new injury or suspension concerns.
Tope Obadeyi is set for his last game in Swindon colours unless his loan stay is extended, while fellow striker Alex Revell is competing to make his first appearance for the club having failed to come off the bench for his debut in last weekend's 1-0 win at Yeovil.
Midfielder Alan O'Brien is coming to the end of his rehabilitation from a hamstring injury but Saturday's clash at the County Ground may come just too soon for him.
Striker Charlie Austin is not eligible to feature as he is only on trial.
Lee Peacock (back), Hasney Aljofree (knee) and Kurt Hammonds continue to miss out as they recover from long-term injuries.
