Fulham forward Clint Dempsey (knee) could be in line to make his first start for two months after he came off the bench against Juventus in the Europa League. Captain Danny Murphy faces a fitness test on a groin injury while Nicky Shorey, who was cup tied for the Juventus match, could replace Paul Konchesky at left-back.

Right-back Anthony Vanden Borre (hamstring) is back in training while Aaron Mokoena, who was an unused substitute against Birmingham on Tuesday, is also available after a knee problem. Hassan Yebda and Kevin-Prince Boateng are away receiving treatment on knee and ankle injuries respectively, while John Utaka is doubtful with a sore groin.
