Bristol City have been boosted by the news that Cole Skuse should be fit after it was revealed the midfielder had not suffered a fractured forearm during a collision in Tuesday night's 1-1 draw with Leicester.
Boss Gary Johnson will be without striker Alvaro Soborio who has returned to his native Costa Rica following an unsuccessful loan spell at the club. Jamie McAllister (calf) and Jamal Campbell-Ryce (calf) remain sidelined.
Roman Bednar has a good chance of being fit for West Brom following a back injury. Midfielder Youssouf Mulumbu returns from a one-match ban but winger Jerome Thomas is serving a five-match ban.
Giles Barnes is unlikely to feature and Gonzalo Jara (metatarsal), Marek Cech (hamstring), Ishmael Miller (ankle), Abdoulaye Meite (ankle), and James Morrison (heel) all remain sidelined.
