Surprise Ligue 1 leaders Auxerre will have to cope without Polish striker Ireneusz Jelen when they visit the capital to take on struggling Paris St Germain on Saturday.

Jelen has been outstanding when he has played for Auxerre this season, and has scored four goals in eight appearances, however he sustained an injury in training yesterday and has been ruled out of the weekend fixture.

The 28-year-old also scored in Auxerre's victory at the Parc des Princes last season, and his absence will weaken a team who have won just one of five matches without him this season.

However Auxerre's confidence should be up, after a run of seven consecutive league wins which have taken them to the top of the table.

PSG boss Antoine Kombouare needs to lift his side after back-to-back defeats by Nice and Marseille, which have left the Parisians in the bottom half of the table.

Gabriel Heinze's headed goal earned Marseille a 1-0 victory last Friday, and PSG missed chances to get back into the game.

Young midfielder Younousse Sankhare said: "We are lacking the results but the spirit is there.

"The defeat to Marseille should be a lesson for the home match against Auxerre. We have to put right the errors which we committed at the Velodrome and go into this match with great concentration.

"Victory is imperative, I would say it doesn't matter what manner it is achieved in."

Montpellier's Saturday match against Monaco will not go ahead, due to an outbreak of swine flu.

Five Montpellier players have tested positive for the virus, and more could follow.

The Ligue de Football Professionnel announced the postponement on Thursday afternoon.

An LFP medical commission decided that for the sake of players' health the game should not go ahead, and Montpellier's players should be kept isolated.

A new date for the match will be announced next Wednesday.

Marseille remain in the hunt for a place in the Champions League last 16 after their draw against AC Milan last night, but they only stand seventh in Ligue 1, albeit just four points behind the leaders.

They will be without Argentinian midfielder Lucho when they travel to face Lens on Saturday after he sustained a thigh injury against Milan.

Grenoble will continue their pursuit of an elusive first win of the season when they travel to Lorient, who stand fourth in the table, while Lille face Valenciennes, Sochaux take on Nice and Toulouse play Boulogne.

Bordeaux and Lyon, second and third in the table, are both in action on Sunday.

Bordeaux journey to Nancy and will have to refocus after the exhilaration of beating Juventus 2-0 in the Champions League to secure top ranking in Group A.

Marouane Chamakh scored in the victory but said: "We want to repeat that sort of performance in the league. We must get in the same state of mind. We must regroup and come back down to earth."

Lyon were beaten 1-0 by Fiorentina on Tuesday but they too are heading for the last 16 of the Champions League.

However Lyon have not won yet in November, drawing three times - including the 5-5 freak result against Marseille - and losing to Fiorentina.

They face Rennes at the Stade Gerland, and midfielder Michel Bastos said: "We need a good victory to regain confidence. It would be perfect to get it on Sunday in front of our own supporters."

Second-bottom Le Mans also face fellow strugglers St Etienne on Sunday.
