Midfielder Stephen Hunt feels Hull can now head into a tough month of fixtures with confidence after finding their scoring touch.

Hull began November in the bottom three of the Barclays Premier League and with manager Phil Brown reportedly one bad result away from the sack.

The situation has turned dramatically with victory over Stoke followed by a draw against West Ham and Wednesday night's remarkable 3-2 defeat of Everton.

Those three games have yielded eight goals and put Hull in good heart for a difficult run which begins with a trip to Manchester City on Saturday.

The Tigers then play Aston Villa, Blackburn, Arsenal, Manchester United and Bolton before the end of the year.

Hunt, who scored the opener against Everton, said: "We have got some tough games but we go into them with a bit of confidence. We have scored some goals.

"It's been fairly entertaining for the last couple of games and hopefully we can take that to Eastlands on Saturday.

"I don't think our commitment has ever been in question in terms of desire to win matches and do well. The lads are a great bunch and we are all honest."

Hull set up Wednesday night's win by racing ahead with goals from Hunt, Andy Dawson and Dean Marney inside the opening half hour.

Everton got back into the back with a Kamil Zayatte own goal and Louis Saha penalty but Hull held on.

The win lifted Hull four points clear of the relegation zone but Hunt insisted nobody was getting ahead of themselves.

He sounded a note of caution by pointing to Everton's recent poor run - now one win in 10 games - and the quality of the Manchester City side despite their recent sequence of six successive draws.

The 28-year-old said: "We have played Everton at a good time, they have gone through a bad patch.

"I'm sure David Moyes will get them going again so it is a massive win for us.

"Man City will be flying, they need the win big time.

"They are a very powerful team and they have an awful lot of speed. We will need to match them."

Hunt is now hoping he is back in the goals himself having struck for the first time since his efforts in the opening two games of the season.

He said: "It was nice to get a goal and hopefully get going again. Hopefully I'll have five or six by Christmas."

Hull's victory over Everton was achieved without the presence of midfield talisman Jimmy Bullard, who was rested by Brown.

Bullard was the driving force for the positive results against Stoke and West Ham but is still being managed carefully after a 10-month knee injury nightmare.

Brown said: "At the end of the day it is a long haul, it is a 38-game series. We are 13-14 games into it, so there is a long way to go.

"It was a joint decision. It's a big positive when you've got players who look at the bigger picture and not the smaller picture.

"I think the next time we play close back-to-back games is Manchester United and Bolton towards the end of December, so hopefully by that time, fingers crossed, he might be through his personal trauma of how match fit he can get."

Brown also seems to be more secure in his position with new chairman Adam Pearson today saying he was pleased with progress since he returned to the club at the start of the month.

When asked if he was happy with Brown, Pearson said on Sky Sports News: "Absolutely, the whole club is moving forward as one.

"At the minute there seems to be a spirit and a belief within the club, within the players and supporters. That is what we are trying to bring together."
