New Barnsley boss Mark Robins has made Julian Gray his first signing.
The winger joins the Tykes as a free agent following his release by Fulham over the summer.
The former Arsenal trainee has also turned out for Crystal Palace, Cardiff, Birmingham and Coventry during a much-travelled career.
The 29-year-old has only agreed a short-term deal at Oakwell as his search for stability continues, but Robins believes Gray is capable of earning an extended stay.
"Julian will bring a lot of pace to our side," he told the club's official website.
"He can play at left-back but normally operates in front of that and has bags of experience in the Championship and Premier League.
"He will come in initially on a monthly deal and will add a lot to our squad."
