Modeste M'Bami admits he is continuing to wait for Portsmouth, amid claims that Bolton are ready to step in and land him.
The Cameroon international midfielder enjoyed a trial spell last month and he impressed manager Paul Hart.
But the uncertainty over Pompey's proposed takeover means permanent deals are proving hard to push through.
As such M'Bami is being forced to wait, and that has alerted their Premier League rivals Bolton.
Speaking to skysports.com, M'Bami insisted he was still waiting for Pompey.
"I have now been here three weeks and I enjoy it.
"I am waiting for the manager to decide, I have heard about interest from other clubs but let's wait and see.
"I can't say anything else."
