Hertha Berlin coach Lucien Favre refused to hit the panic button after seeing his side scrape into the second round of the DFB-Pokal with an extra-time victory over fourth division Preussen Munster on Saturday.
Hertha's bid to reach the cup final to be held at their own Olympiastadion was almost scuppered at the first hurdle as lowly Munster pushed them all the way before the Bundesliga side hit two goals in the extra period to seal a 3-1 win.
After Patrick Ebert's own goal cancelled out Hertha's opener through Rafael De Araujo, the match went to extra-time with Valeri Domovchiyski (118) and Rafael's second (120) securing victory.
Despite the laboured win, Favre was nevertheless satisfied and admitted it should come as no surprise that his players were made to fight.
"Leverkusen struggled against Babelsberg, Stuttgart were behind at half-time against a team from the fifth division, so I don't understand the question as to why we struggled so much," he said.
"That is how it is in the cup. The important thing is that we are into the next round. In the end, we did deserve to win."
The Swiss coach is aware, however, that his side will need to perform better in their Bundesliga opener against Hannover next weekend.
"We certainly have a lot of work ahead of us," he admitted.
