Wigan manager Steve Bruce has revealed a fee has been agreed with Newcastle for wantaway full-back Charles N'Zogbia.

The Frenchman has long been linked with a move away from St James' Park and is now refusing to play for Magpies manager Joe Kinnear after he mispronounced the player's name as 'insomnia' in a TV interview this week.

N'Zogbia is expected to complete a move to Wigan in the next 24 hours with Ryan Taylor moving in the other direction.

Bruce has been one of the busiest managers in the transfer window, with Wilson Palacios, Emile Heskey and Kevin Kilbane all leaving and Mido, Hugo Rodallega and Ben Watson arriving.

"Hopefully, by tomorrow it'll be four in and four out," Bruce told BBC Radio Five Live.

"We have agreed a fee with Newcastle and it's up to us now to convince the boy Wigan is the place for him; come and enjoy himself, come and kickstart his career if you like, where it seems to have gone a bit sour in the North East."

N'Zogbia has previously voiced his desire to play for a top-four team and Bruce has urged the 22-year-old to follow in the footsteps of Palacios and Heskey and use Wigan as a stepping stone.

"A lot of people have done that, used Wigan as a platform - that's the way we go about trying to entice people to come to us," he continued.

"We're not going to try and sell (Wigan), I'm going to give him the truth, like we normally do and, if he wants to play for Arsenal, Tottenham, then come and be a big success for Wigan, like Palacios has done, Emile Heskey's done.

"There have been a lot who've used our club to further their career. We're realistic enough, and the chairman's realistic enough, to know that that's the way we go about it.

"I've seen his comments, we all want to play for Manchester United and Liverpool and all the rest of it; use us as a platform to get there."
