David Beckham's every move will be tracked by a special "Beckham Cam" when he makes his planned Los Angeles Galaxy debut against Chelsea later this month.

ESPN has announced plans to offer blanket coverage of the Galaxy's friendly against the Blues on July 21 - the game earmarked for Beckham's first appearance as a Galaxy player.

ESPN will carry the game live with 19 cameras following the action on the field and one will be trained exclusively on the former England captain, who has signed a five-year deal worth up to £125million with the Galaxy.

ESPN will also carry a pre-game show and offer updates via its flagship SportsCenter show. Prior to the match, the channel will screen a one-hour documentary called "David Beckham: New Beginnings".

Reggie Bush, the New Orleans Saints running back who has teamed up with Beckham in his first major endorsement deal of the summer, will be a guest during the coverage. ESPN will offer further coverage through its broadband service ESPN360 and its soccernet.com website.

"Beckham's move to Major League Soccer is a landmark moment for the league and for soccer in America," said Scott Guglielmino, ESPN's vice president of programming and acquisitions.

"Our coverage will appear across several ESPN platforms and will chronicle this historic moment well beyond the game telecast with the depth and context it deserves."

Last August, ABC/ESPN signed a multi-year deal to carry MLS games through 2014. Beckham is to be officially unveiled as a Galaxy player on July 13 as he begins a five-year contract.
