Bristol Rovers have snapped up Kidderminster Harriers defender Craig Hinton on a two-year contract.
The 26-year-old spent six years with the Midlands outfit and was one of the players manager Jan Molby was hoping to keep at Aggborough.
But he has rejected the offer of a new deal to become the Pirates second summer signing subject to passing a medical.
The move will see Hinton link up again with his former Birmingham City youth coach Kevan Broadhurst if, as expected, the 45-year-old Yorkshireman is confirmed as assistant to new boss Ian Atkins in the next few days.
Broadhurst told the Bristol Evening Post: "Craig is a very solid defender. He is quick and has a very good footballing brain. We are delighted to have him.
"He can play in a number of positions in the back line from centre-back to full-back and also wing back."
