Watford have bolstered their defence with the signing of Andrei Stepanov on a short-term contract until the end of the season.
The Estonia international sufficiently impressed Brendan Rodgers in a trial this week to be offered a contract at Vicarage Road.
Stepanov will provide competition for Mike Williamson and captain Jay DeMerit, who is currently struggling with a knock.
The 30-year-old has 79 caps for his country and was voted Estonian Footballer of the Year back in 2004.
