Southend were smiling last weekend as they won 3-0 at Rotherham and we expect more success for the Shrimpers when they journey to Morecambe.
Paul Sturrock's side have only been beaten in one of their previous six league and cup games and the Scot is sure that his players are on the right track.
"We have had a couple of results that went against us, but I think we have showed we have some quality players," he said after the win over the Millers.
"They worked their tails off the whole game and kept their shape which has been really important and the front two have caused mayhem.
"Last season was a big disappointment to us not to make the play-off final, but we have restructured the team and it took a while for them to settle, but they are now learning what the score is.
"As we get more players back, they are competing for places. It's a very young team but they are learning quickly."
The Shrimpers now sit one point outside the play-off places so they are in a good position to strike.
Saturday's long journey north gives them a chance to do just that as regular followers of our League Two selections will know.
Morecambe's home form is a long way from spectacular with just one win in 11 league and cup games and success has been had backing against them during that run.
The Shrimps still pick up decent results on the road but Southend are the side to back in this contest.
