Tuesday's Best Sporting Bets

Horse Racing

Perfect Mission to win the 5.15 at Brighton - 5/1

Promising apprentice Kieren Shoemark is good value for his 7lb claim which could prove vital for this fairly handicapped six-year-old in a trappy handicap. The pair may be able to steal an easy lead which should enable Perfect Mission to go close at a track where he's run well in the past.

Aaron Ramsey to score at any time - 12/5

Ramsey scored the winner for Arsenal on Saturday and can take that form into Europe. The in-form midfielder is truly one of the best in the game when it comes to making chances count and two-thirds of his goals last season came away from home. With Arsenal owning a flawless record at this stage of the Champions League, he's taken to fire them to victory.

Derby to beat Charlton - 6/5

The Rams are favourites here at 6/5 with Sky Bet and should be well capable of justifying that tag. Manager Steve McClaren will want to see some sharper work up front after a goalless draw with Sheffield Wednesday but he has one of the league’s deadliest hitmen in Chris Martin to lead the line. Charlton pinched a late victory at home to Wigan over the weekend but are without goalkeeper Stephen Henderson, who has a hamstring injury. That could well be punished by the classy visitors as they look to get back to winning ways.

David Goffin to beat Leonardo Mayer 2-0 at the Winston-Salem Open at 6/5

Belgian qualifier David Goffin could be the surprise package in this event after he dumped out defending champion Jurgen Melzer 6-3 6-4 on Monday, extending his winning run to 23 matches. Take him to continue that run against number four seed Leonardo Mayer and with his confidence sky high, we think he can win this in straight sets.

Sailor Jerry (Trap 6) to win the 8.58 at Sheffield

We fancy Elaine Parker to be in the money at Sheffield tonight and aside from the in-form Candlelight King, who will be particularly short in the betting at 7.26, Sailor Jerry (T6) looks the best bet of the night in the 8.58. The Westmead Hawk dog may not have to improve a great deal on his latest second-placed effort over track and trip and he should lead if reproducing a smart 4.25 to the split.
