Sky Sports will screen matches including champions Manchester City's clashes with city rivals United and Liverpool.

City v Chelsea and United v Chelsea are other matches which will be shown on Sky, as well as the London derbies between Arsenal and Spurs and Chelsea and Arsenal.

BT Sport will show the opening game of the season - Manchester United v Swansea on August 16, which will be Louis van Gaal's first game in charge at Old Trafford.

Barney Francis, managing director of Sky Sports, said: “Forty-nine out of 50 of the most popular Premier League games were shown on Sky Sports last season and a quick look at our opening schedule of fixtures shows Sky Sports is still the place to go for more of the games that matter.

"With more football than ever before, including the launch of our fantastic new European football channel Sky Sports 5, our customers have never had such an unrivalled choice of football. And for the first time, we’re inviting every Sky, Virgin Media, TalkTalk and UPC household to enjoy all seven Sky Sports channels free for the opening day of the season."

Sky Sports analyst Gary Neville, the former Manchester United defender, added: “I can’t wait for the new season and I can’t wait for Sky’s live matches. There are so many stand-out fixtures here to look forward to, including must-see head to heads, big tests for the top four and all the promoted sides.

"We’ll see all the teams at least three times, visit all the grounds and tell the complete Premier League story throughout the opening three months and beyond. I can’t wait to get back into the studio.”

In total Sky will show 116 live Premier League games this season with BT Sport screening 38.
