Sergio Aguero was boosted to 15/2 from 6/1 to score the first goal against Manchester United and he duly obliged with a delicious volley that set City on their way to a 4-1 victory.
It was the latest in a long list of winning price boosts from Sky Bet and to add to the punters' joy Sky Bet's social media special of 'Sergio Aguero and Wayne Rooney both to score' came in at 12/1.
Aguero added to his opener with Yaya Toure and Samir Nasri scoring the other two on an afternoon when David Moyes was without Robin van Persie due to a groin strain.
Rooney scored a late consolation with a brilliant free-kick but United were still pushed out to 9/2 following the heavy defeat.
The new leaders are Arsenal following their 3-1 win over Stoke on Sunday afternoon, a victory accomplished thanks to goals from Aaron Ramsey, Per Mertesacker and Bacary Sagna.
The Gunners are 6/1 to win the title, with Spurs 11s after they beat Cardiff 1-0 thanks to an injury-time goal from Paulinho.
Liverpool are out to 14s following their 1-0 home defeat to Southampton on Saturday.
Sky Bet's Chris Spicer said: "Manchester City's ruthless demolition of their rivals has seen them cut to 7/4 from 5/2 for the Premier League title.
"The way the Citizens dismantled United was particularly impressive after a shaky start to the season and this has prompted us to slash them significantly.
"All our compilers see City as the best side in the league although they do still have five teams competing to finish top and there will be plenty more tough games for them coming up.
"Moyes' men attracted all the money pre-game but failed to justify their popularity, so it was a pretty good day for us despite the Sergio Aguero price boost going in."
