A review of Sunday's action so far in the Barclays Premier League.

  • Steven Gerrard scored but Man City battled back for a 2-2 draw with Liverpol.
  • Gareth Bale enjoys Tottenham's winner at West Brom.

Champions Manchester City lost more ground in the title race as they were held to a 2-2 draw in a thrilling encounter at home to Liverpool.

Edin Dzeko's 12th goal of the season put the hosts ahead midway through the first half only for Daniel Sturridge to smash home his fourth in six matches for Liverpool since his move from Chelsea.

An even better trademark Steven Gerrard strike put Liverpool ahead with 17 minutes to go only but Sergio Aguero salvaged a point with an exquisite shot from the narrowest of angles.

However, it was not enough on a weekend when rivals Manchester United won and the result leaves Roberto Mancini's side nine points adrift of the leaders.

  • Steven Gerrard scored a great goal for Liverpool in the 2-2 Super Sunday draw against Manchester City.
  • West Brom took on Tottenham in Sunday's first game.
  • Graham Dorrans and Benoit Assou-Ekotto tangled.
  • Jermain Defoe's match was ended by injury before half-time.
  • Lewis Holtby looked to impress after replacing Defoe.
  • The game changed when Goran Popov was shown a straight red card for spitting at Kyle Walker at the start of the second half.
  • Gareth Bale put Spurs ahead in the 67th minute.
  • The winger enjoyed celebrating the strike that secured a 1-0 victory.
  • Manchester City hosted Liverpool in the second game of Super Sunday,
  • Edin Dzeko put City 1-0 up.
  • A great strike from Daniel Sturridge pulled Liverpool level.
  • Roberto Mancini shouted instructions before the half-time break arrived with the score 1-1.
  • Steven Gerrard gave Liverpool the lead with a superb strike.
  • The Reds captain was right to be very happy.
  • It wasn't enough to bag the win as Sergio Aguero struck from a tight angle to secure a 2-2 draw for City.

Gareth Bale's superb strike earned Tottenham victory over 10-man West Brom at The Hawthorns - and closed the gap to third-placed Chelsea to one point.

The Wales international struck his 11th league goal of the campaign mid-way through the second half to end a run of three successive draws for Andre Villas-Boas' team.

Albion played the final 42 minutes with 10 men after defender Goran Popov was sent off for spitting in the direction of Spurs defender Kyle Walker.

Tottenham took full advantage of their numerical advantage to dominate the second period despite the loss of leading scorer Jermain Defoe with an ankle injury.

Bale was a constant threat with his pace and power as he followed up his mid-week equaliser at Norwich with another crucial goal.
