Chelsea are rated as the main beneficiaries of the Champions League draw by the bookies with Sky Bet slashing their odds from 8/1 to 6/1.

The Blues are now joint third-favourites alongside Barcelona, having been placed in Group G with Schalke, Sporting Lisbon and Maribor, three sides which are all triple-figure odds to win the competition.

In contrast, Manchester City have drifted from 11/1 to 14/1 to win the Champions League after being handed yet another tough task.  They’re pitted against second favourites Bayern Munich again, while Roma were rated the biggest threat from pot four at 50/1, although those odds have now doubled.

There have been smaller changes in the odds for Arsenal and Liverpool, with the Gunners out from 18/1 to 22/1 having been drawn alongside Borussia Dortmund, Galatasaray, Anderlecht, while the Reds are the same price as they face champions and 7/2 favourites Real Madrid, Basel and Ludogorets Razgrad.

Sky Bet’s Joe Petyt said: “It looks like another favourable draw for Chelsea and they are our odds-on favourites to win their group, which would obviously leave them in a favourable position heading into the knockout stages, while City, Arsenal and Liverpool face far tougher tasks.

“All four Premier League sides are expected to quality and Liverpool are the worst result in our outright book but we’re holding Jose Mourinho’s side in very high regard this season with a prolific striker in their ranks again."
