Argentina captain Lionel Messi is Sky Bet's new 9/4 favourite to be the World Cup top goalscorer after joining Brazil forward Neymar on four goals.

Messi netted twice - including a fantastic free-kick - in Argentina's 3-2 victory over Nigeria to complete progress to the knockout stages as Group F winners.

Argentina still sit alongside Germany at 4/1 in Sky Bet's outright market. Hosts Brazil remain the favourites to lift the trophy at 3/1.

Nigeria also made it out of Group F but are way out at 200/1 to win the World Cup.

Messi and Neymar are at the head of the top scorer list on four goals but it's the Argentina star who Sky Bet make their 9/4 favourite to finish at the summit.

Neymar can be backed at 5/2 but there's still plenty of other competition with six players on three goals remaining in the tournament.

Germany forward Thomas Muller is priced up at 5/1 with Sky Bet, while France striker Karim Benzema (11/2), Holland hotshot Robin van Persie (10/1), Oranje winger Arjen Robben (14/1), Colombia ace James Rodriguez (33/1) and Switzerland star Xherdan Shaqiri (33/1) also in the running.

Ecuador striker Enner Valencia has scored three goals but his nation are out of the World Cup after finishing third in Group E.

France drew 0-0 with Ecuador to finish top, while a hat-trick from Shaqiri secured a 3-0 win for Switzerland over Honduras and a clash with Argentina in the last 16.

You can get France, who now face Nigeria, at 8/1 in Sky Bet's outright market and Switzerland are out at 80/1.

Sky Bet have priced up both France v Nigeria and Argentina v Switzerland.
