Manchester United are 7/4 to reach the Champions League quarter-finals after suffering a 2-0 defeat to Olympiacos on Tuesday night.

United conceded a goal in each half in Greece and now have a mountain to climb in the second leg at Old Trafford in three weeks' time.

The odds suggest they won't do it but at the 7/4 on offer, neither do the Leeds-based layers feel it is out of the question. They are 1/2 about United winning the second leg.

Olympiacos, big outsiders to make it through before kick-off, are now 2/5 to reach the last eight.

Sky Bet's head of football trading Paul Wiggins said: "Olympiacos went off as 12/5 underdogs in the match result market as we sided with the visitors at 13/10.

"The one competition United have been reliable in this season has been the Champions League but it's another kick in the teeth for their backers on this occasion."

Meanwhile, United are out to 40/1 (from 20/1) to win the Champions League. The Greeks can be backed at 150/1.

Borussia Dortmund were the night's other winners - defeating Zenit St Petersburg 4-2 in Russia. The Germans are now 12/1 to go one better than last year's final defeat to Bayern Munich.

Bayern remain outright favourites at 15/8. However, no side has ever successfully defended the trophy since the Champions League format was introduced in 1992.
