Jordan Henderson and Daniel Sturridge both netted twice as title outsiders Liverpool edged a 4-3 victory against Swansea in an Anfield classic.
Brendan Rodgers' side continue to be plagued by a poor defence but moved within four points of Barclays Premier League leaders Chelsea after emerging victorious from one of the games of the season.
Henderson had the final word in his side's success, forcing home from point-blank range in the 74th minute after his initial effort had been saved.
However, Rodgers' former team played their part with a stirring away performance capped by Jonjo Shelvey's first-time strike and a brace from Wilfried Bony.
Swansea threatened to equalise in the closing stages, but the Reds went even closer as Steven Gerrard's deflected effort crashed off the post.
Robert Snodgrass' cool finish earned Chris Hughton yet another stay of execution at Carrow Road as Norwich beat Tottenham 1-0.
Snodgrass fired the Canaries to just their second win in 12 league clashes, with goalkeeper John Ruddy producing a string of first-class saves.

Chief executive David McNally has admitted Norwich would be "delinquent" not to keep eyes and ears open for a replacement for embattled boss Hughton.
McNally's revelation raised rumours Neil Lennon could trade Celtic for Norwich, but this nervy victory may keep Hughton in post just that little bit longer.

Loic Remy ended Newcastle's barren run with a dramatic injury-time winner as Aston Villa were defeated 1-0 at St James' Park.
The striker claimed his 12th goal of the season in injury time of a game the Magpies should have had wrapped up long before.
It clinched a first victory since January 18 and ended a run of five successive home defeats.
Remy and strike-partner Papiss Cisse had earlier wasted glorious opportunities to put Alan Pardew's men ahead in a game which rarely hit the heights, but the former's late contribution proved enough to seal three points.
