West Brom's James Morrison has said he hopes the team will adapt to Pepe Mel's style as a result of their training camp.

The Baggies are currently in Jerez in Spain attending a high intensity training camp and Morrison feels that it provides the perfect opportunity to become fully accustomed with Mel's philosophy.

During the Spaniard's short tenure at the club, West Brom have picked up three draws and lost two, which leaves them in just one place above the relegation zone and level on points with Sunderland, who currently occupy the final relegation zone place.

When speaking to the Birmingham Mail, the Scot said: "It will be good for trying to get used to the gaffer, how we're going to play and what system suits us.

"Hopefully it will give us a bit of identity, we can get used to the manager and he can get used to everybody because it's still very rare that we all get together like this. It is quite a new team with new faces, so hopefully we can mingle and have some fun."

Morrison also revealed how pleased he is to be reinstated in the first team under Mel after he had struggled to find his way into the team under former boss Steve Clarke making four appearances in the last five.

He said: "It was frustrating at the start of the season. For six years I've been a regular and a main player, so not to be involved was hard to take.

"I probably didn't take it as well as I should have but a new manager coming in gives you a new lease of life and over the last few weeks I think my performances have been good. It's difficult when you're not playing for five or six games and then you start a game."
