The Royals are in the play-off places despite a tough campaign which at times has seen as many as 10 first-team players in the treatment room.
But Sean Morrison, Wayne Bridge, Danny Guthrie and Chris Baird - who is still training with the club despite being out of contract - are close to returning from lengthy lay-offs.
"Danny Guthrie is a top, top player who I really rate, and we'll be glad when he's fully fit and raring to go, to add to the group," said manager Nigel Adkins.
"All being well he'll have a full week of training. I want us to pass the ball, and in this division Danny is as good as anybody.
"We've had Morrison, Bridge, Guthrie and Baird join in the first part of the warm-up which is really pleasing.
"We've dipped them in and out and they're on course, working extremely hard but you don't want to force the issue and see them break down. They're on track."
