The highly-rated winger has linked up with the Bluebirds on loan for the remainder of the season.
He has made a move after finding first-team football hard to come by at Manchester United, with David Moyes reluctant to ask too much of the youngster during a testing time for the Red Devils.
Zaha has, however, been charged with the task of helping to steer Cardiff away from relegation danger.
He made his bow off the bench in Saturday's home date with Norwich City, and made an immediate impact as he inspired a come-from-behind 2-1 success.
Zaha says there is plenty more to come from him and is convinced he can be a success in south Wales.
He said: "I was just glad to get on. We needed the crowd to help and the noise the fans made helped to push us on.
"I'm happy. I hope to be one of the fans' favourites and every game I come on, I will give it my all."
On Cardiff's efforts to beat the drop, with victory over the weekend lifting them to within two points of safety, Zaha added: "We can get out of the relegation zone if we just believe, and getting these points have helped a lot.
"The manager just told us to push on. We were at home and there's no reason why we should be on the back foot all the time - we should go and attack."
