Manchester United manager David Moyes felt his side deserved their 2-0 victory over Cardiff on Tuesday night, which was sealed by goals from Robin van Persie and Ashley Young, and could have won by a bigger margin.

Juan Mata made his debut following his £37.1million move from Chelsea and afterwards the Spanish midfielder gave his thoughts on the match.

The result was disappointing for Manchester United legend Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who saw his side stay bottom of the Premier League following the defeat.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers hailed a psychologically important victory in the 222nd Merseyside derby as Everton were blown away 4-0 while Toffees boss Roberto Martinez accepted their display was nowhere near good enough.

Meanwhile leaders Arsenal could only manage a 2-2 draw at Southampton but Gunners boss Arsene Wenger praised the efforts of the hosts while Saints counterpart Mauricio Pochettino was also impressed by his side's "sensational" performance.

Crystal Palace manager Tony Pulis says what his side lacked in quality they more than made up for in effort as they continued their climb up the table with a 1-0 victory over Hull, whose boss Steve Bruce felt the Tigers were denied two clear penalties.

Michael Laudrup admitted his Swansea side needed a victory after their 2-0 win at home to Fulham while opposite number Rene Meulensteen was left to rue a missed opportunity.

Norwich and Newcastle drew 0-0 in a game which saw both teams reduced to 10 men - check out the views of Canaries boss Chris Hughton and Magpies manager Alan Pardew.
