The return of Jose Mourinho seems to be the overwhelming factor as all of the favourites have changed managers this summer, with the Blues backed in from 5/1 to 9/4 since the return of the 'Special One'.
Manchester City are joint favourites after making four significant signings already, with reigning champions Manchester United drifting out to 5/2 as they begin life without Sir Alex Ferguson at the helm.
City are actually the least backed of the big three, attracting half the stakes of Mourinho's men, while Arsenal, who are considered the next most likely contenders at 10/1, have received even less support.
Tottenham and Liverpool are both all but written off at 33/1 apiece, with those lengthy odds still struggling to appeal to punters.
Spurs and the Reds are also expected to miss out on Champions League football again, with the Gunners attracting more support despite being odds-on for a top-four finish.
At the other end of the table, odds-on favourites Crystal Palace have been best backed for relegation and are favourites to go down at 8/15.
However, it is 9/1 shots Newcastle who have attracted the next most stakes amid questions over their stability at the helm, with punters backing Alan Pardew into 3/1 favourite to be the first boss to go following Joe Kinnear's return to St James' Park.
There has also been significant movement in the top goalscorer betting due to the weight of money, with Tottenham's summer signing Roberto Soldado backed in from 33/1 to 16/1.
Robin van Persie, who has topped the charts for the last two seasons, has attracted slightly more support though, justifying his status as the clear favourite at 7/2.
