Already advised:

3pts Northampton to win promotion

4pts Bradford to win promotion

This isn't too in-depth a preview of the League Two play-offs as my cards have already been put firmly on the table.

I used last week to get in early with my play-off thoughts and Northampton have been backed at 3/1 with Sky Bet (a price now in slightly to 11/4 with the Leeds-based firm) to book a spot in League One.

That follows on from supporting Bradford at 11/2 to win promotion way back before the season started in my ante-post preview.

I agree with the bookies making Bradford the favourites to jump up from the fourth tier with their superb cup record this season (most memorably in the Capital One Cup but also in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy) and the late charge that got them here at the front of everyone's thoughts.

I detailed last week why I am keen on Northampton making it to Wembley to face the Bantams and the weekend's 2-0 win over Barnet has further illustrated that their recent lull is over.

Both play-off semi-final first legs are played on Thursday evening but there is just one selection I have from the two games.

Roy O'Donovan has ended the season with two goals in his last two games and a man in form is just what Northampton need when they host Cheltenham.

The former Coventry man has only bagged five goals over the course of the campaign but now is the forward's time to shine and I reckon the 11/5 with Paddy Power for him to strike at anytime is worth a small stake.

Bradford v Burton is the night's other match and as you can see from my earlier preview the Bantams are the side in this one for Betting Zone followers to watch.

There are already points used in this promotion battle so let's see how it goes.
