Plymouth face a huge battle to stay in League Two and the latest test is a clash at home to fellow strugglers Barnet on Saturday.

Argyle have hit a rocky run of form just as their relegation rivals have started to pick up points and that has left them bottom of the table with a three-point deficit to Accrington and AFC Wimbledon - the two sides immediately above them.

Tuesday night's 1-1 draw at Wimbledon wasn't a bad result but wins for Accrington and Barnet have left the Pilgrims - who have now won just one of their previous six matches - with more ground to make up.

Boss John Sheridan is still sure Plymouth can avoid the drop but they need to start collecting victories and that means the pressure is firmly on this weekend.

Barnet are on a good run with a four-match unbeaten sequence and strong results away from home helping Edgar Davids continue his positive impact at Underhill.

Betting Zone followers benefited from the Bees' win in their last away game at York and there have also been victories against Gillingham and Rotherham in their previous six contests on the road.

A 2-0 success at home to play-off candidates Southend on Tuesday was a further boost to Barnet's survival bid but Davids was still asking for more from his players when he spoke to the press after the match.

"We are pleased with another clean sheet, that is the basis of football. You start from there," he said.

"Confidence is high in the squad but now we have to look to play better in certain situations and some players have to make better decisions in certain situations when in possession of the ball.

"Certain things we didn't execute right and you have to be aware of that and not only look at the three points but look further and start developing better."

Davids still expects improvement - but Barnet are already in better shape than Plymouth so backing the away win is well worth doing.
