St Etienne advanced to the Coupe de France quarter-finals with a 3-2 win over Lille on Tuesday night.
They had to come from 1-0 down after Marko Basa's opener, but Aurelien Chedjou's own goal on the stroke of half-time and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's strike four minutes into the second period turned the game around.
Brandao made victory secure before Salomon Kalou pulled a goal back for Lille.
Troyes may be languishing in the Ligue 1 relegation zone but their mood was lifted as they saw off fellow strugglers Sochaux 2-1 in the night's other all top-flight tie.
Jean-Cristophe Bahebeck set them on their way in the 10th minute and substitute Julien Faussurier's late goal proved crucial as Sochaux's Ryad Boudebouz netted a penalty deep into stoppage time.
Ligue 2 Le Havre's run was ended by another team in Ligue 1's bottom three, Evian.
Kevin Berigaud's brace set the hosts on their way and though Yohan Riviere pulled a goal back, Saber Khelifa made it 3-1 to Evian.
