Kazim-Richards: Pushing for a start for Blackburn

Sunday, December 2

Burnley v Blackburn

Clarets boss Sean Dyche has a clean bill of health for the derby clash, with midfielder Dean Marney available after suspension. Kieran Trippier and Ben Mee are expected to retain their places in the full-back positions.

Rovers striker Colin Kazim-Richards, winger Morten Gamst Pedersen and midfielder David Dunn are pushing for starts but striker Nuno Gomes misses out with a hamstring injury and the game could come too soon for winger Fabio Nunes.

Cardiff v Sheffield Wednesday

First-team regulars Kevin McNaughton (thigh), Ben Turner (hamstring), Andrew Taylor (calf) and Don Cowie (knee) are likely to be available for Cardiff after missing the midweek draw at Derby. Craig Noone is suspended but on-loan Norwich man Simon Lappin returns after serving his one-match ban.

Wednesday give late fitness tests to Anthony Gardner, Lewis Buxton and Rhys McCabe. Defenders Gardner and Buxton missed the midweek loss to Watford with hamstring injuries, while midfielder McCabe was withdrawn due to an ankle problem. All three are rated very doubtful - Martin Taylor could replace Gardner at centre-half, while Kieran Lee and Joe Mattock offer cover for Buxton.
