The French international shunned numerous moves over the summer from around Europe, including Premier League duo Swansea and Newcastle.
Gomis has just a year left on his current deal with the French giants - who have been trying to off-load him for more than a year.
But the 28-year-old is resolute that he will not be forced out of the club, and now a free transfer next summer looks increasingly likely.
Late in the window a move to Newcastle had looked set to go through, but he admits that he would not take a drop in wages.
"I had a talk with Newcastle's coach and we found an agreement," Gomis told TV show Canal Football Club.
"Then, there were talks with Lyon, there was a first offer - which was refused and then a second one, which was accepted.
"Newcastle then came back to me and asked me to make an effort on wages - but I never asked anything as it was my club which wanted to transfer me, so the effort had to be made by Newcastle or Lyon."
Gomis confirmed that a new deal with Lyon was highly unlikely.
"Now I think after what has been said and done, it is not conceivable to talk about any prolongation," he added.
