Camp, who has nine Northern Ireland caps, was a free agent and has been signed on a rolling monthly contract until January.
The 29-year-old Camp has made 349 league appearances during spells at Derby, Burton, QPR, Nottingham Forest and Norwich.
Foster has suffered a stress fracture in his right foot and West Brom's goalkeeping coach Dean Kiely said Camp's signing was timely.
"Lee will bring experience and authority to the goalkeeping department," Kiely told the club's website.
"We have acted quickly in the wake of Ben's injury and made a really good signing.
"Lee comes with a strong pedigree, having played at a high level both domestically and internationally."
