The 25-year-old has been a peripheral figure since PSG's influx of big-money signings, with Javier Pastore, Lucas Moura, Marco Verratti, Blaise Matuidi and Thiago Motta all rivals for a central midfield berth.
And he told France Football: "I think I have done all I can with the club.
"I want to play more, I want to play big games and get the reward for my work on the pitch or in training. I want to go somewhere else."
Chantome featured in 28 matches, 12 of them from the bench, as PSG won this year's Ligue 1 title.
He won his first France cap in October's friendly against Japan and also made six Champions League appearances, but was an unused substitute in both legs of the quarter-final as his side lost to Barcelona on away goals.
"From outside, it may seem I have everything at PSG," he said. "I play regularly, I am well paid and have two years on my contract.
"But PSG is not my life assurance policy. I do not want to just sit in my comfort zone. I am 26 soon and I am a competitor."
