Spurs will go into the game on the back of their Europa League last-16 second-leg tie at Inter Milan, but a comprehensive 3-0 win over the Italian giants last week means Spurs' key players could be rested with the Barclays Premier League clash with Fulham in mind.
Hangeland believes Andre Villas-Boas' side are now amongst the English elite and have a number of players who are capable of winning a game single-handedly.
"They are a very good side and right now are one of the top teams in the country," he told Fulham's official website.
"Villas-Boas has them playing some really good football this term, and throughout their squad they have some very talented players.
"Gareth Bale is in fine form, whilst they also have the likes of Aaron Lennon, Mousa Dembele and Jermain Defoe who can make a difference in the final third."
Spurs have not lost at home since a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Wigan on November 3 and will be hoping to continue their push for third spot after losing at Liverpool on Sunday.
But Norway international Hangeland reckons Fulham are also on a good run of form and can spring a surprise in north London.
"White Hart Lane is a tough ground to visit," he said. "I'm sure that many will see Spurs as the favourites.
"But that's fine, we know what we are capable of and we like to think that we can continue our recent good form and take something from the game."
